About me

This supervisor has been approved to provide supervision under the ACCESS TO SUPERVISION PROJECT.

My central belief: All people matter and are deserving of respect.
I was born in the QLD outback country and have five siblings. I see myself as a "city girl" but love the sounds of birds and cold brisk mornings. I am a mother of four adult children and a grandmother of two amazing little people I have ever met! I love learning and am constantly self-reflecting on my own behaviours as well as deconstructing the world around me. I notice little details and am a highly attuned and compassionate listener. I believe that words are our second language and we first communicate through feelings and non-verbal mechanisms, so it is important to listen with whole body - not just the ears.

This supervisor has been approved to provide supervision under the ACCESS TO SUPERVISION PROJECT. If you are a supervisee who has received an approval email/letter from the CMHL you may contact this supervisor for supervision for this project, then follow the stated processes for supervision payment.

My approach to supervision

I come from a non-biomedical paradigm.
My approach is first understanding the communication styles and relational needs of the individual so we can create a brave space where we can explore together.
I will always question and reflect, rarely advise and never tell a person what to do. I believe that for meaningful self-reflection and performance improvement - the person has to find the answers themselves and have their "a-ha" moments. As a Supervisor, my role is to help the individual gain confidence and understanding their approach through active listening. Using a strengths based approach together we gently probe blind spots and reflect on relational spaces and what it means to be peer. There is no one way or one answer - each relationship is unique and each supervision will be tailored to what is needed on the day.
