Dr Catherine Brasier is a Consumer Academic and Post-doctoral Research Fellow at the Social Work and Social Policy at La Trobe University. Her work is informed by her own lived experience of mental distress and recovery; as well as her experiences as a community mental health worker. She recently completed her role as Consumer Academic (2019-20) in the Recovery and Social Justice Unit, Centre for Mental Health at the University of Melbourne. Catherine has a focus on the optimal incorporation of lived experience in service delivery and research.

My experience

Catherine has provided lived experience supervision for the past 4 years. She specialises in supporting those in industry, development and leadership roles. She has also worked extensively in community mental health (2007-2014).

My approach to supervision

I co-create personalised supervision programs that respond to the unique needs of each person. Areas of support may include reflection on values, workforce development, communication and workforce skills. Leadership skills, facing challenges and developing relationships is a key area of development that I support.
